iPad Update
The Liberty Learning
Experience affords all students the opportunity to participate in a 1:1
learning environment where learning is personalized, engaging, meaningful, and
student-centered. As the school system
has deployed iPads to students, we have remained committed to using the devices
for instructional purposes. There have been concerns with students downloading
non-instructional apps. Beginning
November 14, 2014, all Liberty County School System students may only have
approved apps on their iPads. Unannounced iPad checks will take place weekly at
the middle and high school levels to ensure only the approved apps are on their
devices. The approved app list is
available on the school system’s webpage as well as each school’s webpage. The
list can be found at http://www.libertyschools.org/approvedapps. If students have apps on iPads that are not on the
approved app list, disciplinary consequences will follow. Please refer to the iPad Pride Handbook and
LCSS Acceptable Use Policies/Procedures for specifics. iPads currently have Internet filtering at
school and by November 14th; the Internet will be filtered on all
LCSS iPads at home as well.

Insurance
Students can no longer purchase insurance for the 2014-2015 school year. Please remember that if you purchased insurance on your student's iPad, the insurance will cover damages to the iPad, however ClamCases are not covered under the insurance. ClamCases are replaced at a cost of $50.00. If you chose not to purchase insurance for your student, you may be held responsible for the cost of repairs. Please check with your student’s school for
additional information.
We will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of
the deployment and usage.
The school system will provide updates about the Liberty
Learning Experience as needed.
