The Liberty County School System is excited to meet the needs of today's students by offering a 1:1 iPad environment through the Liberty Learning Experience in grades 4-12. We realize that this is new to many and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible as we embark upon this exciting journey with our students. Below is a list of frequently asked questions that will address many of your questions/concerns.
Q: What is a 1:1 program?
A: A 1:1 program represents the most comprehensive technology integration program available for instructional purposes. It requires that every student and teacher involved in the program have direct access to a personal computing device at all times.

Q: How will using the iPad impact my childs' learning?
A: The iPad will allow learning to be personalized, engaging, meaningful, collaborative and student-centered. Students will have access to up-to-date information and tools at their fingertips.

Q: What if my child accidentally damages the iPad?
A: Parents have the opportunity to purchase insurance on their student's iPad for $30.00 per year with deductibles. The $30.00 will cover the first incident with no additional fees. A $25.00 deductible will be charged for each additional incident. If parent's choose not to purchase the insurance, they may be held responsible for covering the cost of repairs. (Cracked Screen: $50.00) * Please note that the sling bag, ClamCase, ClamCase charging cord, iPad charging cord, and iPad charging block are not covered under insurance.

Q: If my student's iPad is damaged, will he/she be given a loaner iPad?
A: Students will be without their iPad until the repairs are completed but may be given a loaner if available. The loaner device may not be available for 24-48 after the damaged device is turned in. Loaner devices will not be allowed to go home.

Q: What happens if my child forgets their password and cannot access the iPad or download apps?
A: We will work to assist the students as quickly as possible; however, students may not be able to gain access to this information for 24-48 hours.

Q: If my student's iPad goes missing, will the system be able to track the device?
A: Tracking software will be installed on each iPad.  LCSS will work with law enforcement to recover the lost or stolen iPad. A police report must be filed and turned in to the Liberty County School System's Technology Department within 14 days of the date the device went missing. Failure to do so may result in fees for missing iPad.
Q: How will my child get apps on their iPads?
A: Each student (grades 8-12) will be given an email address which will allow them to create an Apple ID to use for downloading apps. (Students 13 and under will need parent permission to allow the school system to create an Apple ID for the student.)

Q: What if the apps cost money?

A: If a teacher requests that students load an app that has a cost associated with it, the school system will purchase the app and give students access to download.
